The unique atmosphere of the diplomatic quarter

Bubeneč, the vila quarter being built since the second half of the 19th century by prominent Czech architects, houses many representative offices and you can find multiple embassies and the ambassador’s residences of countries from all over the world. Exactly here, close to the Willy Brandt park, near to the st. Gothard church, you will find the unique Chittussi project.

The adjacent Dejvice quarter that is the heart of Prague 6 is located just a few blocks away. Here you will find a multitude of shops, businesses, trendy cafés, bistros and restaurants. It's only a 15-minute drive from Vítězné náměstí to Prague Airport via Evropská Street. The so-called Kulaťák is one of the main traffic points in Prague 6, you will find the Dejvická metro and tram station here as well as bus connections leading into all of the other Prague quarters.

It only takes a few minutes before you reach Prague’s city centre – if you are planning a Sunday walk to the Prague castle, it's just a twenty-minute walk from here through the Písecká gate and around the famous Bílkova vila to reach Hradčany.

In each of the four seasons you will fall in love with a different activity and discover new parts of Dejvice. In the summer you can sit in the middle of Vítězné náměstí by Café Šesťák whose atmosphere gets even better thanks to the piano that is being played by bypassers or even customers of Café Šesťák. In the winter you can go ice skating to the ice rink that gets built each year in front of the ČVUT campus. In the spring, summer and autumn you can enjoy the Saturday farmer’s market, from time to time with a culinary theme thanks to the sponsorship of various embassies from around the world. Vítězné náměstí is the centre of Prague 6.

Near the Chittussi project there is an almost uncountable number of establishments - italian „the italiens“, greek „Fresh greek“, czech „Dejvická 11“ or french „Bistro a táble“. You will find delicious restaurants here as well – Joy burger bar & steakhouse, japanese wabi sabi restaurant and many more. For coffee or breakfast you can try one of the many options for example in Café Záhorský, bistro Vejce Dejvice, café Místo, Sofia café, Kafemat or Calma. You can also try the delicious icecream in Angelato or Créme de la Creme.

Around the Vítězné náměstí square there are all of the necessary services and shops. Pharmacies, stationery shops, trendy flower shops, bookstores, banks, health services – all of these are located only a few steps away from the square. In the italiens, a store from the famous restarant and shop Wine Food, you can find italian specialties, for fresh farmers products go to Sklizeno or the vegetarian store Countrylife. There are some kindergartens, elementary, and secondary schools in close aproximity to Chittussi, nearby there is also the Business academy Bubeneč. Prague 6 is also the home to a few prestigious high schools and even the International School of Prague in Nebušice. Two of the biggest university campuses in Prague are also located here.

The fresh city greenery with flowers and trees gives Prague 6 its fairytale character. When taking a walk in Dejvice you will come across many parks with benches where you can read, drink your coffee that you got from a closeby café or just enjoy the sun. For a longer walk or run you can go to the biggest Prague park Stromovka. Its huge area will allow for an amazing walk with your partner, four-legged buddy or in solitude to clear your head. If you like jogging, inline skating or cycling, you will appreciate the high amount of routes that are dedicated to these sports in Stromovka. The beautiful greenery of Stromovka is also the perfect place to go for a picnic or host a family party.

The Dejvice quarter is not only diplomatic, lively and cosmopolitan, it is also a place full of knowledge. The Czech technical university, Czech agricultural university or the prestigious high schools like Arabská, Nad Alejí or private Riverside School and International School of Prague are all located here. A place, that is worth paying a visit to, is the National technical library where many events are held, such as book readings, presentations or workshops to which you or your children can sign up and come to broaden your horizons in a comfortable academic environment.

Only a few steps away from Chittussi you will find Arthouse Hejtmánek, a respectable auction house that regularly displays and sells the most prominent czech works from the moderna, cubism and current era. Their garden auctions are very inspiring. If you walk in the direction of the Hradčanská street, you will come across the gallery of Villa Pellé that, apart from the exhibition area, organizes workshops for the public and children. On Malá strana, near Chotkovy Sady, you can also visit the newly opened Kunsthalle Prague, it is amazing!

A good theater performance awaits you at the Dejvické theater or at the legendary Semafor theater, both of which are only a few minutes walk away from Chittussi. You can also attend one of the performance for children or adults in the Spejbl and Hurvínek puppet theater. In the summer make sure you do not miss one of Shakespeare’s plays played each year at the Prague castle.

Every Saturday morning one of the biggest farmer’s markets in Prague takes place at Vítězné náměstí where you can not only buy fresh vegetables, eggs, milk products or grassfed meat, but you can also come here and have your morning coffee, enjoy a delicious early lunch or meet your friends. All of this only a 15 minute walk away from Chittussi.
